Sorry people, this blog has not been my highest priority, I really wanted to capture the day to day goings on of the process of opening a brewery, and while I don't update this blog as much as I'd like, I still think you get a good idea. This process has at times been extreamly fast paced, where a week goes by in the blink of an eye, and everyday is very busy with construction, installing new equipment, and just trying to keep things organized. At other times, things get held up, progress is slow, all you can do is wait for something to happen. Right now we're having building permit issues, I had to hire an architect to submit drawings to the state, which isn't motivated to get the paperwork pushed through. I did happen upon a great architect who is also a home brewer and is definatly helping me out, Thank you so much Brent Burris! Starting this brewery is reminding me so much of my long distance hikes, everyday is made up of many seemingly small tasks, but eventually things come together and visable progress is made, Babysteps. We now have all our equipment, after spending a whole day driving down to Indy to pick up our kettle, and 2 brite tanks, and they look great!(thanks george) Spent a whole weekend hauling kegs outside and pressure washing the paint and stickers from the old brewery off (thanks dad). Still working on building a kickass walk in cold room (thanks contractor Dave). All that is left now is finish the walk in, address our bathroom issues, and gas and electrical hookups for the kettle and cold room, and we will be BREWING! We are still looking foreward to introducing Fort Wayne to fresh beer in JULY! keep checking back stay tuned to facebook and twitter to hear the latest news and updates.
